painted surfaces

deep bowl

using the surface of a ceramic piece to draw, paint, or  record on  is a tradition in many cultures that I really enjoy…especially japanese and chinese landscapes. I see patterns around me all the time, from  minute textures to the broad swathes of landscape patterns and textures…windbreaks, hills, plantations, vineyards  rocks and grasses….                                       translating this with the  energy of brushes, water and oxide is an ongoing passion
