up early to water and mosey about the garden….found a beautiful little owl, hurt on theside of the road…seems his wing may be broken ?rang wires they said (before hours tape) in a warm dark box…when time, if no one comes to help, take him to a vet, they will help, free of charge for a native animal!! meanwhile prepping clay for throwing…some cool breeze blowing thru but looks and sounds hot outside…cicada’s finally coming with their summer thrumming!! mmm bit hard to knuckle down and work…waiting for yesterday’s bisque to cool (open tomorrow morning!) thinking about glazing/new shapes/next kiln load/next delivery/vegie garden….
folded new batch of linen pieces this afternoon ….a satisfying end to the studio day!!
opened last glost firing (wednesday) this morning…I enjoy making marks with brush and oxides…these marks/patterns are based on landscape formations I have passed thru or live nearby. it seems the mind wants to find reason in whatever it sees and when my landscape beakers bear resemblance to trees and hills, valleys they are quite sought after …however the brush wants to flow and make marks that are not in a cohesive, immediately understood format, but stem from the same source.
glazing finished lunchtime tuesday…kiln all ready to roll on Wednesday! firing finished at 7.30pm last night…looking forward to throwing in the morning!!
small tumbler/beakers turned out quite well?!!
